down at me. I was 10 back when it was done and very disappointed to have seen
the horns on it fall off when it was baked. It is one of my mom's prized
possessions. I look right and there's a watercolor I did when I was 16. To my left
is an acrylic painting I did when I was 17, which stirs a lot of conversations as
people determine it's an abstract of President George Washington and others
see it for what it is, an abstract drawing of a lake at the foot of some mountains. I
sit and laugh. Let them wonder.
Born in Puerto Rico, my name is Taisia Rivera and I'm 25 years old. My mom was
reading a magazine one day and stumbled upon a painting of some flowers. She
read the artists name and it was Taisia Paczkowski (much love to her as she is a
great artist and has a great name). She liked the painting and she liked the
name, thus the name stuck on me after I was born. The name only fits an artist,
so I became one.
My family came to the U.S.A. when I was 9. I can't remember when or how or why,
but by the time I was in High School I was in student art shows and in airport art
exhibits. I really couldn't make up my mind on whether I wanted to go to college
and major in music or get a medical major. So my senior year of high school I
won a Portfolio Scholarship to The Art Institute of Atlanta and that was the
decision I made. Go against the other two and make my lifelong hobby and love
my career. My time at the Art Institute was great and I even became the founder
of the biggest club there (the ACM SIGGRAPH club also known as the geek
club). I graduated from AIA in 2004 with a BFA in Computer Animation. I now live
in Orlando, Florida where I work as a freelance illustrator and as a cast member
(Photographer) at Walt Disney World.
I draw inspiration from the things that surround me, be it music, people, literature,
or photographs. Because of this, you will see a lot of different things as subject
